The UNLV Student Involvement Fair will feature 22 nonprofit organizations from Southern Nevada in areas including health care, education, nutrition, youth, homelessness, and employment. These organizations are here to seek help from faculty, staff, and students to continue and advance their missions.

Please take a few minutes away from your busy schedules to learn more about these wonderful organizations.

For all other majors, you must meet with an Academic Advisor for your degree program.

English Department Meet and Greet

The faculty and staff of the Department of English would like to invite you to a “Meet and Greet” on Wednesday, Oct. 28, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union, Room 208 A & B. There will a light buffet with dessert and beverages. Come join us and meet the English department faculty, greet your fellow students, and listen to English department alumni about the many professional opportunities available for those who major in English at UNLV.

Major Exploration Workshop

The ASC is holding a Major Exploration Workshop today and next Monday 10/19/09 at 2:30 in the ASC Classroom. This workshop is open to any and all students who need help selecting a major.  Students who have earned 48 credits or more are required to declare a major and are encouraged to attend the workshop. Students can also make an appointment with one of our advisors if they are not able to attend.

Writing Center Workshops

The Writing Center is a free service to UNLV students to help with any writing project, from papers to creative writing to resumes, at any stage of the writing process. They can help you brainstorm, make an outline, work on your drafts, or just be a soundboard for your ideas. They can assist you in person, or you can send them your paper using the Online Writing Lab(OWL) page.

Re-Entry Scholarship Application Deadline

Applications for the Spring 2010 Friendship re-entry scholarship and the Renee & Martin Paluga Re-Entry scholarship are being accepted at the Academic Success Center. These scholarships are for nontraditional students. Full criteria for each award can be found on the application. Applications are due to the ASC by 5pm, Oct. 9.
Applications can be found at the ASC or online.
